Like the popular trivia game QuizUp, Trivia Crack tests the general knowledge of all its players in a competitive, immersive environment. Players begin with 5 lives, which means they can only submit 5 incorrect answers before having to purchase or wait for new lives. Despite this shortcoming, Trivia Crack is among the more unique trivia games, as all of its questions are user generated. During a challenge with either a random opponent or a Facebook friend, players have the opportunity to rate each question with a thumbs up or down. Questions range from sports and entertainment to history and geography. Players compete to win (and steal) profile avatars — which mark a successful Trivia Crack player. The game keeps track of progress and even reminds players which categories gave them the most trouble. Because all players must have a certain level of prior knowledge before playing, we recommend Trivia Crack to players 10 and older.

Recalling and retaining information in our minds while working.
Success in Trivia Crack is predicated upon the player's ability to recall information they've learned in the past. Categories like sports and entertainment require prior knowledge learned independently or outside the classroom. Success in other categories like geography and history is very much dependent on how well players remember what they learned in school, from browsing the web, or from reading. Either way, players are activating the working memory each time they start a new game in Trivia Crack.
Understanding our own actions, thoughts and feelings.
Each time players enter a challenge against a Facebook friend or random opponent, they must spin the trivia category wheel. Players are given 3 free spins to start the game. If the wheel lands on a category that players struggle with, they can choose to spin again. Trivia Crack keeps track of each correct and incorrect answer, which helps players realize their own strengths and weaknesses. Aside from winning challenges, one of Trivia Crack's main goals is to collect avatars. And avatars represent different areas of expertise, as well as success in certain challenges. Players can gauge the level of an opponents expertise simply by looking at the numerous avatars they've collected.
