Tap! Dig! My Museum! Is an idle game where the player is managing a museum and its collection of dinosaur fossils. The game begins with a rundown museum where you and your team need to start filling it with interesting things. Clicking on the dinosaur icon will take you and your team of paleontologists to the field to search for dinosaur bones. Clicking on the dig site allows you to search for bones and bring them back to the museum.
Patrons will come and spend money that can be used to fund further digs for rarer dinosaurs and other types of fossils. Additional items can bring school buses of children to your museum, bulldoze the top layer of a dig site, or even use radar to help you locate bones easier. The money from your patrons can also help to open up other parts of the museum, making way for more skeletons.
Tap! Dig! My Museum! Is free but requires in-app purchases to use certain features. Ads can also be watched to provide additional features as well.
Time Management: Being efficient and aware of our use of time and effort.
Idle games are a good way to teach children about time management skills, especially the use of time and effort and prioritizing some tasks over others. Because idle games can continue without the player being constantly engaged, the player can multitask, not spending too much time staring at the screen when not actively engaged by digging or leveling up.
Planning: Developing a systematic approach for setting and achieving goals.
In order to successfully build a museum up from nothing, the player needs to use their planning skills wisely. They will need to use the money they have to fund digs, increase their museum space, and level up their paleontologists. Because the player starts with a small amount of money, they will need to decide which of these things is more important and then plan what they will do to increase the amount of money they earn from patrons. As they earn more money, players will need to plan out what type of digs they want to go on, as some are more strenuous than others and cost much more money. For players who struggle with planning, this type of game can be a low-stakes way to learn about money management planning and prioritization of tasks.
