Super Auto Pets helps kids practice and improve the following skills:

Flexibility: Adapting and adjusting to changing conditions and expectations.

In order to make it through several levels of the game, the player needs to practice their flexibility skills and learn to use the animals they have to their best advantage. While the player may have some animals that are their favorites, there is no guarantee that they will get them in the randomized pet shop when building their team. The player needs to adapt and look at only the animals available and not get stuck on wishing they had different pets to use. Players also need to look at the types of pet foods that generate and use them to help augment their pets in areas where they are lacking. 

Planning: Developing a systematic approach for setting and achieving goals.

  In order to successfully win a game of Super Auto Pets, the player needs to be able to use their planning skills and think several moves ahead. Each pet has their own unique abilities and some of these work very well together while other do not. The player needs to look at what pets they have, what is available for purchase, and what could be sold and make decisions based on the combinations these pets could potentially create. For players who need help with planning, the game has a way to slow the battles down to a step-by-step speed, so that they can see how their team functions and take note of what went well and what did not.
