Rilakkuma Farm is a game where San-X characters inherit a rundown farm and work together to fix it up and make yummy treats for the residents of the town. The game has a storybook component where students can practice their reading skills in between doing chores on the farm like growing plants, feeding animals, and filling orders from local businesses.

Presents can be earned from fulfilling orders and these can be used to decorate the farm. Earn coins and gems that can be used to purchase additional plants and decorations or to shorten the length of time it takes to produce food and milk.

Because Rilakkuma requires the player to read multiple lines of text, this game is recommended for students who can read or will have assistance from an adult.

Rilakkuma Farm helps kids practice and improve the following skills:

Planning: Planning for future goals and long-term projects.

In Rilakkuma Farm, the player must decide how they are going to use their time and resources to build up their farm. Because they do not have an unlimited supply of coins, they will need to balance out what they will supply versus what they will purchase. Students with developing planning skills may find themselves waiting longer to complete tasks due to a lack of pre-planning. An early tutorial stage can help the student with setting goals before they are left to play the game on their own.

Organization: Arranging and coordinating materials in order to complete a task.

There are many options within the game Rilakkuma Farm; players can grow crops, decorate and expand their farm, fill orders for locals, and make delicious food. Because there are so many options, players need to use their organizational skills to determine which resources they have at any given time. Recipes cannot be made without growing crops, orders cannot be filled without adequate food, and the farm cannot be expanded without money. Students with developing organizational skills may find that it takes them longer to complete tasks if they are not aware of the resources they have on hand. Tutorials at the beginning of the game help guide students through their inventory management, helping them practice their organization skills at the same time.
