Rolling Sky 2 is the official sequel to Rolling Sky. Changes include an art shift (going from a more modern and abstract look to a backdrop of gorgeous, if somewhat surreal, realistic landscapes). The player also controls an actual person now instead of the previous ball.
There are multiple different landscapes (such as rolling green hills or the deserts and ruins of Egypt). Each level currently has two difficulty settings (Normal and Hard), with a Nightmare level “coming soon”. Each level has three stars. The player earns a star for completing the level, collecting all gems, and collecting all crowns.
The game has ads and in-game purchases. The ESRB rated Rolling Sky 2 E for Everyone and LW4K stands by this rating.
Rolling Sky 2 helps kids practice and improve the following skills:
Getting started and then maintaining attention and effort to tasks.
This game has a lot of moving obstacles, as well as including a steady forward pace for the person the player controls. This means there are a lot of split-second decisions. If the player isn’t using their focus skills, ignoring internal and external distractions, they can very easily miss the approach of an obstacle and end up dying.
Managing our actions, feelings, and behaviors.
Because of all the sudden movements, by both the player and the obstacles, there will be a lot of mistakes. The player will at some point go right off the pathway, slam into an obstacle, or miss one of the gems. In some instances, they will do this repeatedly on the same level and even in the same spot. This can raise levels of anger and frustration. If the player doesn’t use their self-control skills and manage these strong feelings, their playing will get worse and worse. To be successful on all the levels, the player must use self-control.
