Piffle is a puzzle ball adventure with a cat theme. The player uses cat-head shaped balls to bounce off walls and other objects positioned above their person (who is dressed in a cat costume). Each of the objects must be hit a certain number of times before it disappears. The player must remove all the objects before they reach the ground to win the level.

There are a variety of different objects, such as moving ice blocks, regular and explosive blocks, triangles, and even “pigatas” (piñatas shaped like pigs). The player can also collect materials and patterns for new balls, earn achievements and treasure chests, and unlock special events.

There are in-game ads and purchases. The ESRB rated Piffle E for Everyone and LW4K stands by this rating.

Piffle helps kids practice and improve the following skills:

PlanningPiffle

Developing a systematic approach for setting and achieving goals.

Piffle is a great game for practicing planning skills. The player must practice problem solving by deciding what angle to aim their balls at, as well as which blocks to try and eliminate first—and even whether to eliminate blocks first or release more balls first.  If they don’t take the time to plan out their shots, the blocks will reach the ground and the player will lose one of their lives.

Time Management

Being efficient and aware of our use of time and effort.

While Piffle does not have a clock ticking down the seconds, it is still a good game for practicing keeping pace and being aware of the use of our effort. The player must always be aware of how close the blocks are to the ground. This is how they "keep pace". If they let the blocks reach the ground, they use up lives and can even run out of lives (although they refill). They also have to make sure they are using their balls the best way possible. Each block has a certain number of hits required in order to eliminate it. Each round also has a limited number of balls available for use. The more the player can cause the balls to rebound off the walls and blocks, the more efficient their effort becomes and the less rounds it takes to beat the level.
