Dumb Ways to Die is a game where your character needs to complete very ridiculous tasks in order to not be killed. As you advance in the game, the time you have to complete the tasks gets shorter and shorter, requiring you to complete the same tricky tasks in less time.
Time Management: Increasing the pace of activity.
By setting a timer and allowing for breaks, Dumb Ways to Die allows students to perform tasks under pressure, as each task is timed. As they advance in the game, the time gets shorter and the pressure increases. If they fail at the task, the character does not make it through the task.
Focus: Getting started and then maintaining attention and effort to tasks.
Dumb Ways to Die requires focus under pressure, so it is a great way for students to practice this skill. The tasks in the game range from simple to intricate but the timing element requires that students stay focused even when they think the task will be easy to complete.
