Daring Dungeoneer is an app-based card game where you are a dungeon crawler looking for treasure, defeating enemies, and interacting with a bunch of treasure chest mimics who help you along on your quest to become more powerful. The player enters a dungeon and encounters enemies and items by flipping over cards in a deck. When you encounter an enemy, you deal and take damage instantly. You can also choose to flee the dungeon, allowing you to keep your items and experience points but forcing you to replay that level from the beginning.

In the mimic town you can purchase potions and other items such as weapon upgrades to help boost your stats before entering new dungeons as well. There is also a shop where the player can look at a bestiary journal containing all of the monsters they have defeated so far as well as any items they have encountered.

Daring Dungeoneer is a free-to-play game but in-app purchases are available.

Daring Dungeoneer helps kids practice and improve the following skills:

Organization: Arranging and coordinating materials in order to complete a task.

To move through the various dungeons successfully, the player needs to have strong organizational skills. The player needs to keep track of their item inventory, their power ups, their equipment, and how many gems and coins they have. Each of these items is necessary for a different part of the game and having a strong sense of organization will help the player make sure they have the items they need before going into a dangerous situation. Gold and gems can help purchase items as well, and the player needs to make sure that they have the appropriate funds to get new items and equipment before they make a trip to a more dangerous dungeon. Players who struggle with organization may find that they do not have enough coins or gems to get what they need and will need to go through lower level dungeons to build their supply back up before attempting the more difficult levels.

Planning: Developing a systematic approach for setting and achieving goals.

In order to make it through the dungeons in one piece, the player must have a plan of attack. When clicking on a dungeon level, the player can see how many enemies they will encounter as well as how much treasure. This allows the player to ensure that they have all of the power ups they will need for the dungeon as well as the enhanced equipment they will require to defeat the monster. Players who struggle with planning may find that they do not have the materials required to move through the whole dungeon and will either need to flee and lose their progress, or be defeated by an enemy.
