The goal of Addimania is to create number combinations that add up to 10, using numbers with two or more digits. The player is given one minute to make as many combinations as possible, and he can earn bonus points by creating “chains” of equations. Each round of the game provides a new experience, as there are different bonuses and possibilities that arise. The game contains no inappropriate content and is easy to play, but due to the basic addition skills required, it is recommended for players ages 6 and older.

Working Memory

Recalling and retaining information in her mind while working.

Addimania - Educational Game Review image 1

Addimania requires quick, successive performance of simple addition equations in order to beat the game. If the player can remember various groupings of numbers that add up to 10, he can quickly use them in a variety of combinations to earn a better score. Since the player earns points by linking large combinations of numbers, Working Memory skills become even more important for adding three or four combinations of digits at a time. The more numeric combinations the player commits to memory, the faster he'll be able to chain together equations and maximize his score.

Planning

Developing a systematic approach for setting and achieving goals.

In order to build large combinations and chain together equations, the player must observe all numbers on the screen and plan accordingly. Usually a specific number can be combined with multiple surrounding numbers to creat different equations adding up to 10. Therefor, the player needs to look over the best ways to combine blocks of numbers so each one is than be used is entered into the chain. By leaving no number behind, larger chains are achieved and the score increased greatly. If the player doesn't think ahead and enters only simple equations, he'll find himself without the numbers needed to earn a decent score.
