As the name would suggest, Cal is a calendar app, similar in layout to iCal, the calendar that comes stock with most apple products. However, Cal is directly tied to the planning and todo app, Any.do. The two productivity apps work hand in hand, syncing tasks, meetings, obligations, and any other type of commitment users may have. Users have a full range of personalization options too, as they can set a custom photo theme and app icon badge. For users who have the Any.do task management app, it is highly recommended that they combine its feaures with Cal, for a fully functional project management and calendar experience. Cal is very straightforward and lends itself well to users ages 8 and older.

this app is good for kids who need help with:

Planning

Developing a systematic approach for setting and achieving goals.

Users must remember that on its own, Cal is very limited in what it can do, as it really only creates events. But when coupled with Any.do, it becomes a one-step way to plan ahead days, weeks, and even months at a time. Users simply select the “plus sign” at the top right of the screen in their Cal app and title their task and activity. Once they have created a task, they indicate the day and time at which it will begin. If it’s a reoccurring activity, users can have Cal remind them at daily and weekly intervals. Not only can users sync Cal with Anydo, they can also choose to sync it with iCal or Google Calendars for more detailed descriptions of events.

Organization

Arranging and coordinating materials in order to complete a task. Organizing ideas.

Sometimes todo and task management apps like Any.do make it hard to stay organized. Because there are so many options for creating task descriptions and a variety of folders, important activities can sometimes get lost in the mix. That’s not the case with Cal. It’s the simplicity that Cal offers that keeps important obligations from being forgotten.  So when things come up, adding them to Cal and by extension, Any.do requires only one step, which can be accomplished in seconds. Users who want to get a quick briefing of an upcoming day or week can do so by dragging the calendar down, activating a more detailed calendar.
