Habio is a habit tracker that focuses on the user’s approach to creating and keeping habits rather than just tracking them. When the user opens up the app, they begin by choosing one habit they would like to begin. Users can choose from pre-set options or create their own custom habit. They will then be asked to choose how often they want to track this habit and how many times within those days they would like to do it.

Once this basic information has been established, Habio goes through several strategies with the user for sticking to the habit they have chosen. Some of these include surrounding yourself with positive people, reflecting on your progress, and giving yourself a reward. Users can take a quiz at the end of the “training” period of the app to see how much they remember about good habit forming.

Habio also features a journaling tab where users can write honestly about their successes and challenges while trying to stick with their new routine.

Habio is free to use but certain features require the purchase of the Pro version of the app. It is available now on iOS and Android.

Habio helps kids practice and improve the following skills:

Planning: Developing a systematic approach for setting and achieving goals.

In order for a habit to be successfully developed, the user needs to practice it over and over again until it becomes second nature. Habio also shows the user how making a good plan for your habit can make it more likely that you will succeed in performing whatever action you wanted to do. For users who struggle with planning, they may find that keeping up with a new habit can be hard because they are never prepared for it. Habio walks users through how planning can help you stick with your habit and even tests for comprehension at the end of your “training.” Users are also encouraged to pick one small habit and develop that first instead of making a large to do list of things they want to change.

Self-Control: Managing our actions, feelings and behaviors.

Once the user has identified a habit that they would like to break or begin, Habio can help them stay on target. Users who struggle with self-control often need a reminder or motivation to keep them on track. The app keeps track of the user’s daily and weekly progress, allowing them to see when they succeed and when they are falling behind where they wanted to be. For users who struggle with self-control, starting with a simple habit and setting realistic goals is a good way to build this skill up without overwhelming or frustrating the user. Habio also allows the user to connect with others who are trying to stick with the same habit to receive encouragement.
