Habit Rabbit is a task and habit tracking app made by the same company as the focus timer Study Bunny. The user opens the app and names their rabbit who lives in a very messy house. The user can then click on the upper right hand corner of the screen to access the app’s different functions. By clicking on the calendar, the user can then add different tasks that need to be completed during the month as well as new habits they would like to form. The user can set the importance and the frequency of each task and then check them off as they are completed. Finishing tasks will earn the user coins which can then be spent on cleaning areas of the rabbit’s home and unlocking new furniture items. The user can also click on other icons such as the graph, which provides progress information on specific tasks and habits. A notebook icon allows the user to take notes relative to a specific day, reminding them to bring materials to school, a phone number they need to remember, etc.

Habit Rabbit is free to use but includes in-app purchases and ads for additional bonuses. It is available now on Android and iOS.

Habit Rabbit helps kids practice and improve the following skills:

Organization: Arranging and coordinating materials in order to complete a task.

Apps like Habit Rabbit are a great way for younger users to practice their organization skills. Writing down weekly or monthly tasks in one spot and using an app to keep track of their completion allows a child to see their progress in a tangible way. The addition of a cartoon character and earning coins to improve their room and home is an additional “gameified” way to motivate children to set and accomplish these tasks and habits and to track their progress with them.

Focus: Getting started and then maintaining attention and effort to tasks.

Setting and maintaining habits takes dedication and focus and apps like Habit Rabbit can be helpful for staying on target. The app also features push notifications which can be enabled to allow the user who is practicing focusing to remember to complete their habits and tasks for the day. The app also gameifies focus, allowing the user to earn rewards for completing tasks which can then be used to clean the room and purchase furniture for their cartoon rabbit.
