Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors is set in the fictional kingdom of Avalonia, five years after an evil demon has been sealed away by the local warrior Claymore. Players control Claymore’s son, using the Wii remote to battle monsters. The game features motion controls, with players using the controller to swing their sword, block with their shield, and execute powerful special attacks. As evil creeps towards Avalonia’s borders, players face off against gangs of harder monsters, and must slay them all to restore peace to the kingdom. Due to the mild violence, crude language, and suggestive themes, it is recommended for players ages 13 and up.
Managing our actions, feelings and behaviors.
In Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors, players hold the Wii remote like a sword and use specific motion controls to trigger their attacks (swing to slash, jab forward to thrust). Players may be tempted to waggle the remote like crazy, but doing so results in scattered attacks. Instead, players should hold the controller steady in their hand while mindfully executing the game's motion commands. Being able to do so will result in more successful and dynamic gameplay, and allow players to attack with the precision needed to defeat the game's harder creatures.
Recalling and retaining information in her mind while working.
Each level of the game has players moving along a predetermined path. Rather than controlling movement, players instead focus on attacking and defending against monsters as they arise. However, at certain junctures in each level, players may reach branching pathways, and can choose which way to proceed. Different paths offer different monsters and treasures, but players can only travel one direction each time they play the level. This means players must replay levels to fully explore them, and must remember the layout of the world in order to correctly navigate. By remembering the twists and turns of each map and recalling which way they have already went, players can journey into new areas to explore. This is also a useful tactic when players are having difficulty beating a level. By trying different paths, players may find an easier route through the environment. The better that players memorize the locations of monsters throughout the environment, the better they'll be prepared to attack or defend appropriately.
