Clash Royale is a fighting real-time multiplayer card game that was released and published by SuperCell in 2016. You start off with beginner cards and as you defeat more opponents you gain more advanced cards and other fun rewards. When battling an opponent, the goal is to destroy their two towers and the king tower. You have to do this in a timely manner before the clock runs out or they destroy your towers. As you level up you get to play in different arenas, battle against upper-level opponents and gain special spell potions. Spell potions include a heal potion, rage potion, freeze potion, and more. After each battle you win, you receive coins and a chest. Coins can help you level up cards to help increase your performance on the battlefield. Chests may contain new cards, coins, emeralds, and spell potions.

To succeed in battle, you have to strategically place your cards and determine which player is needed on the battlefield. This game has time considerations because, over the course of the battle, you are given elixir that is needed to place cards down. Each card is worth a certain amount of elixir. The player has to figure out how many and which cards they should put down in order to match the amount of elixir they have. Better and more effective cards are usually worth more elixir (4-5) whereas smaller weaker cards are less elixir (2-3). You can also play with friends as well! You can friend request specific usernames then play with or against them.

Time Management: Being efficient and aware of our use of time and effort.

In order to win a battle, players have to be good at their time management skills. When placing down cards, players have to estimate how much time it is going to take for their elixir bar to fill again in order to put down another card. Players also have to keep track of the amount of time they have left to destroy their opponent's towers. The amount of time players have left sits at the top right corner of the screen. In order to increase their efficiency on the battlefield, players have to determine which cards they have to use in order to destroy towers before the timer runs out.

Planning: Developing a systematic approach for setting and achieving goals

Planning is very important on the battlefield as well. Players have to have a systematic approach for setting and achieving goals in order to beat their opponent. For example, if an opponent places a Baby Dragon and a Gunner card, the player has to plan to try to place down a card for both air and ground support. When playing multiplayer with a friend, it may be beneficial to communicate with each other and plan out what cards you are both putting down in order to defeat the opponent. Planning also includes improving one’s problem-solving skills.  For example, if your opponent is close to destroying one of your towers, you may want to place down defensive cards to save your tower from the offensive enemies.
