Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues is a fighting game featuring characters from the Netflix reboot of the Karate kid franchise. The player chooses whether they will play as the Cobra Kai or Miyagi-Do Dojo and then play through a variety of scenarios that loosely correspond to plot points in the TV series. You can play as a variety of different characters, each with their own unique abilities.

As you make your way through each setting, you battle enemies, power up enough to unleash larger combinations, and gather points that can be used on character progression back at your home dojo. The environment also provides elements you can interact with when fighting, such as cars that you can smash enemies into or baseball bats which can be used as weapons.

Due to some in-game violence and language, Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues is rated T for Teen.

Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues helps kids practice and improve the following skills:

Working Memory: Recalling and retaining information in our minds while working.

Fighting games work well for practicing Working Memory skills because the player needs to keep button combinations in their mind while they are fighting enemies in real time. If you are too busy thinking about your combinations or looking at the screen to see what buttons you need to press, you leave yourself open to attack from the enemies around you. Players who struggle with working memory may find that they need to practice fighting during the easier levels until they have the button combinations down.

Planning: Developing a systematic approach for setting and achieving goals.

When you earn credit in the game, you spend it on a variety of upgrades to your characters and your dojo. Each character learns new moves and earns extra bonuses to their attacks, defense, or counter strike moves. However, you only have a limited number of points to spend so the player needs to plan out how they are going to spend these points in the best way possible. Players who struggle with planning may find that they have spent too much focus on one character, leaving the others weaker and more vulnerable to attacks. These players should look carefully at each progression tree and make sure that they have balanced out their characters before spending all of their credit.
