Pokemon Cafe Mix  helps kids practice and improve the following skills:

Flexibility: Adapting and adjusting to changing conditions and expectations. 

 Because each recipe is different and each set of icons you are given is different, the game changes every time you make a new recipe. Students playing the game need to be flexible in order to see the patterns needed to finish the order. If they do not, they will not be able to serve the dish and will have to try again. 

Planning: Developing a systematic approach for setting and achieving goals. 

Students have a limited number of “moves” to complete the recipe. Before moving any of the icons around, they need to plan out how they are going to collect the icons and ingredients that they need. If they do not exercise these planning skills, they may run out of turns before they have collected what they needed.
