Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is a fun interactive game where characters from Nintendo’s Animal Crossing come visit the campsite you have created. You build and collect furniture, upgrade tents, participate in design competitions and compete in seasonal challenges. The game changes with the seasons so there is always something new to explore or collect. Students who are learning to read may need an adult’s assistance as dialogue between characters is frequent and instructions are often text-based.
Organization: Arranging and coordinating materials in order to complete a task.
In order to build furniture, create outfits, or upgrade tents, you will need to have certain items and certain quantities in your inventory. The game helps students organize these items and keep track of them until they are ready to build. Animals will also request certain items and the student needs to make sure their inventory is stocked with the appropriate items.
Planning: Developing a systematic approach for setting and achieving goals.
Sometimes certain items are limited in supply and a student may have to decide between two different items that require the same building materials. If a student wants to build an item, they need to plan for the materials it will require and the amount it will cost. In addition to building, students will need to plan for which animals they want to try to invite to their camp. As only 8 animals are allowed in your camp at a time, planning for which ones you want to invite is an important part of the game.
