Don’t Trip is a walking simulator where the player’s fingers control shoes and rotating the phone controls where the shoes are moving. Along the way the player will have to avoid things like toys and dog bowls. There are also bugs to squash, balls to kick, and tires that must be stepped perfectly into the middle of. There is a list of challenges to accomplish (get your shoes dirty–by stepping in dog droppings). This earns the player coins and also levels them up. Coins can be used to purchase new shoes. There are also leader boards, achievements, and presents.

There are in-app ads and purchases. The ESRB rated Don’t Trip E10+ for crude humor. LW4K stands by this rating.

Don't Trip helps kids practice and improve the following skills:

Self-AwarenessDon't Think

Understanding our own actions, thoughts and feelings.

Don't Trip asks players to pay attention to their surroundings. This means they have to use self-awareness thinking skills. They have to pay attention to where they are, what is around them, and what actions (or "steps") their shoes are taking. If the player doesn't pay attention to their surroundings and use their self-awareness skills, they will end up stepping on things that they aren't supposed to. This will end their run and keep them from getting more coins and finishing challenges.

Working Memory

Recalling and retaining information in our minds while working.

Don't Trip also helps the player practice working memory thinking skills. The missions require the player to work on following directions and their forgetfulness. They also have to remember which obstacles they can interact with (presents and balls), which are safe to step on (like bugs), or which things will end the walk. If they don't utilize these working memory skills, they will be unable to complete missions and earn coins. And if they can't do those things, they can't unlock other shoes or achievements.
