Buckle up for an intense, fast-paced arcade game of master tilting skill! Wave after wave of enemy dots invade your surroundings, and you must survive by any means possible. Luckily, there are always a handful of weapon orbs that you can capture and use. These provide means to survive which include: blending in, wielding a light saber, detonating nuclear bombs, throwing meteorites, and more. You can choose from two different game types, Classic and Code Red (very, very difficult). Either way, prepare for challenges such as diabolical bosses and ticking time bombs that need attention…stat! New weapons can be unlocked as progress is made and medals are earned. This game is recommended for players six and older, as it is not offensive or inappropriate, and does not require the use of any academic skills.

THIS GAME IS GOOD FOR KIDS WHO NEED HELP WITH:

Focus

Arranging and coordinating materials in order to complete a task.

photo 4There's a lot going on, in every corner of the screen, during every second of Tilt to Live 2: Redonkulous. Surviving for even a minute is something to be proud of! The key to sticking around is trying - as best as possible - to have eyes everywhere and to collect orb after orb to keep the attacks going. The weapon orbs provide relief - either by anhiliating nearby dots or allowing the player to blend in, going unnoticed by the dots. Just one brief contact with a dot and it's all over though, so it's really important to collect as many orbs as possible. Avoiding the dots while navigating to an orb is not an easy task, though! They come from everywhere, so it's crucial to pay close attention to one's surroundings. Failure to notice an incoming hoard of dots because the player was distracted (looking elsewhere, eating a snack, talking to a friend, etc) generally ends badly, with the player restarting the level. However, when the player decides to glue her eyes to the game and avoid anything that could negatively impact her effort, she will be much less likely to be caught of guard by any attacks and might even destroy more dots, stay alive longer, AND earn crazy combo points in the process.

Working Memory

Recalling and retaining information in her mind while working.

Three medals must be earned in order to move up to the next level. These can be very specific sometimes, such as dying with a dot count between 60 and 70! It's important to keep these goals in mind while playing so that the player's time is used well and his gameplay behavior is always goal-directed, as opposed to absent-minded. In another example, the goal could be to beat a boss. In this case, the player must stay focused on staying alive for two minutes, at the very least, and then be extra careful when the boss does arrive, as it is so important for her to beat him to move forward. Forgetting this, or any other goal, could lead her to play a round without much purpose or progress. Although it was fun, it didn't actually get her any closer to earning a medal and leveling up. The player will earn medals faster when she makes a point to play with one (or more) of the goals in the forefront of her mind, instead of playing just for the entertainment factor.
