Soda Dungeon 2 is a retro-style pixelated dungeon crawler where your entire party is fueled by sweet sweet soda! Your objective is to find and slay the Dark Lord who lives within the castle’s throne room. You start off in a tavern with basic Soda Junkies and then use the gold you acquire in the dungeon to purchase new sodas for the barkeep to sell. These unique brews will attract different types of characters that can join your party and help you with your dungeon exploration. The further you make it in the dungeon, the enemies become harder and the treasure becomes rarer. You can also build new structures in the town such as stables and a blacksmith shop to own pets or craft new weapons and armor.
Soda Dungeon 2 is available as a free-to-play game but some in-app purchases or ad viewing is required for certain items or experiences within the game. It is available now on Steam, Android, and iOS.
Flexibility: Trying new things
There are many different party combinations in Soda Dungeon 2 and the player needs to be flexible and be willing to try different combinations to see how they work together in the dungeon. Choosing all fighters or all healers will result in an unbalanced party and will most likely mean a quick loss and trip back to the village. For players who struggle with flexibility, trying to add at least one new type of character to their party each round can help add more diversity to the team and might mean you make it further in the dungeon that you previously have.
Planning: Developing a systematic approach for setting and achieving goals.
At some point in the game, your players will access a portal to another dimension. This will cause them to lose all of their gold, sodas, and equipment, causing them to start earning everything back all over again. This means that the player needs to have good planning skills and decide when is the best time to access the portals and how they can quickly rebuild their equipment stash once they end up in the new dimension. Players who struggle with planning may find that they never have enough gold or resources to accomplish what they want to do in the game. These players should take a close look at their inventory and make sure that they have enough gold to purchase sodas and level their characters up so that the experience can be taken with them into the next dimension even if the items are not.
