Robot Unicorn Attack 2 is the sequel to the highly popular Robot Unicorn Attack. What was originally an online flash game known for its outlandish soundtrack is now a revamped mobile app. Robot Unicorn Attack 2 is just as engaging as its predecessor. Gameplay is very simple, utilizing only two touch controlled functions. In this “endless racer” players must collect raindrops, fairies, and break through crystal stars. The sidescrolling course is revealed just in time for users to make their next move. They must time their jumps and dashes to match the changing landscape of the mountains in the sky. The jumping controls are touch sensitive, meaning the harder players press the jump function, the longer and higher the unicorn will jump. Players have three attempts in a round to set the their high score, which is based on the distance traveled as well as items collected. The sidescrolling moves much faster as the game progresses and players need an extremely high level of concentration once they cross the 10,000 point mark. Robot Unicorn Attack 2 is very easy to play and features no inappropriate content. It is recommended for children ages 6 and older.

this game is good for kids who need help with:

Adapting and adjusting to changing conditions and expectations, especially adapting to obstacles.

screen568x568 (24)Robot Unicorn Attack 2 begins the same every time players start the level. However, after the first few seconds of travel, variables and variety are introduced to the game environment. Players are kept on their toes and must constantly adapt to a changing landscape. They will soon need to demonstrate more than an ability to simply adapt. Players are forced to think and react quickly -- almost without thinking as the sidescrolling picks up speed. New obstacles like giants appear soon after the game speed increases -- one more variable for players to adjust their play to. While the dash is normally used to break through stars, there will be times when it is necessary to clear a long jump. Sometimes even the double jump function is not enough to clear the wide chasms. A combination of a double jump and a dash while airborn is often necessary to jump over wider gaps later in the level. Users have just a split second to choose whether to jump, dash, or remain grounded, creating little room for error. After a few plays Robot Unicorn Attack 2's environment will become more familiar and players will be much more adept at adjusting the new obstacles.

Getting started and then maintaining attention and effort to tasks, especially shifting attention.

screen568x568 (26)The Focus Thinking skill involves more than just intense and prolonged concentration. While these are two necessary traits for success in Robot Unicorn Attack 2players have the opportunity to practice goal directed persistence. Unlike the first Robot Unicorn game, this new adaptation comes with goals players must complete to gain experience. Before entering into a level it is imperative that players carefully examine each set of goals. Completing them allows players to level up. Upon leveling up, players are presented with boosts and bonuses to help them achieve more points and collect more raindrops. Raindrops can be used to skip challenges that stand in the way of leveling up. This second aspect to gameplay introduces a new element to the Robot Unicorn series, allowing players to feel a sense of accomplishment even if they did not beat their high score.
