To progress in Ragdoll Blaster 3, the player must remain determined and replay levels multiple times, using trial and error tactics to crack puzzles and improve her score. Once a player learns how to properly complete the level, she can replay it in order to better her completion time and collect more coins. The game awards up to three stars per level depending on the player's performance, and a certain number of stars must be earned to unlock the next world. Thus, persistence and improvement are necessary to proceed through the game. Although it is possible to move from level to level within one world by only earning one or two stars, this will not be sufficient to progress to the next world.

Earning stars is important, and the player must meet or exceed level-specific goals in order to earn them. Each level rates the player based on three parameters: the number of dolls shot, the total coins collected, and the amount of time used. Thus, it is important plan out strategies that are efficient, require less dolls, and do not neglect coins. Furthermore, many levels require a sequence of events to occur in order for targets to become reachable, and it's up to the player to map it out. Without careful planning, the player may struggle to piece together complicated, multi-step puzzles and max out her score.

Time Management

Since points in Ragdoll Blaster 3 are awarded dependant on the amount of time used in the game, it is important for the player to be able to finish levels efficiently. Most levels allow the player to take her time while figuring out the physics, and then revisit it afterward to figure out how to speed up the process. On the other hand, some levels feature puzzles that utilize time-dependent mechanics, such as rolling objects or moving platforms, each which require the player to act speedily or carefully time the chain reaction of events to avoid incoming obstacles or hit moving targets.
