Pigeon Wings Strike is a fast-paced flying arcade game with tilt controls. The player is in charge of a pigeon who is flying an airplane. They control the airplane by tilting their device back and forth to adjust the altitude the plane is flying. There are certain goals (such as pass 100 other flyers) for the player to beat, they earn coins based on how far they fly, and (after reaching a certain point in the game) they also get to shoot drones.
This game has in-app ads and purchases available. The ESRB rated Pigeon Wings Strike E 10+ for infrequent or mild cartoon or fantasy violence. LW4K stands by this rating.
Pigeon Wings Strike helps kids practice and improve the following skills:
Getting started and then maintaining attention and effort to tasks.
This game has very simple game mechanics. The player can learn it and start playing in about five seconds. This does not mean, however, that they won't have to engage their thinking skills. In the case of Pigeon Wings Strike, the player specifically needs to engage their focus skills. Internal and external distractions can cause a crash in a split second if the player doesn't stay focused on their airplane. This game is also in the same vein as an endless runner style game, which means that the longer the player stays focused, the more they get to play and the more they practice their focus skills.
Being efficient and aware of our use of time and effort.
There is also a lot of pacing, or time management, included in this game. The player is trying to pass as many other flyers as possible. They also have to fire down drones, without running into them or their fire, or even just pass them by. If they don't keep pace in this way, they will miss out on bonus coins and items.
