Kami 2 is a relaxing puzzle game where vibrant colors and shapes combine with soothing music to create an overall calming experience. The player is presented with a board covered in different colors of paper. The object of the game is to get all paper on the board to become the same color. This is achieved by clicking on a desired color from a menu below the picture and then clicking on the paper section you wish to change. A beautiful folding animation will show the paper transforming into the color you have chosen. The puzzles have no time limit but the player only has a certain number of moves that they can take before they need to start over. The first puzzle starts with two simple colors and then slowly more colors and complex shapes are added.

There are several ways to play Kami 2: Journey mode walks you through all the puzzles in order, unlocking as you successfully complete levels. Challenge mode allows you to see puzzles created by other users and asks you to attempt to complete them in a set number of moves. Daily mode is a new challenge puzzle every day for you to attempt. And Explore mode allows you to create and share a puzzle of your own.

Kami 2 is free-to-play but in-app purchases (hints) are available.

Kami 2  helps kids practice and improve the following skills:

Planning: Developing a systematic approach for setting and achieving goals.

Each puzzle in Kami 2 needs to be completed in a certain number of moves. This means that the player cannot change the colors on the board in any random order. They need to be able to look at the puzzle and develop a plan for how they are going to proceed. Players who struggle with looking ahead and planning may find themselves repeating the puzzles several times because they have run out of moves but are still left with additional colors on the board. Players who struggle with Planning should move through the earlier levels of the game deliberately trying to think through their process, even if the puzzle seems very easy. It will help when, later in the game, the puzzles get very complex and require a lot of forethought.

Self Awareness: Understanding our own actions, thoughts and feelings.

The combination of gentle music and calming colors makes Kami 2 a great game for those players who need to take a break from a frustrating situation. For players who struggle with Self-Awareness, focusing on a calming task not related to emotions may help them process their thoughts and feelings better. Players who are new to the game should stick with simpler puzzles at first to get the feel for the game mechanics so that the puzzles are a relaxing outlet rather than another frustration.
