Calroo is an organization app where students and their families can keep track of their shared calendar, create lists of needed items, message each other, and set chore schedules. Students can use this app to schedule sports, important tests, make lists for items they need for school projects, keep track of chores, etc.
Additional features available through a subscription service. The app requires reading and writing skills so younger students will need the help of a parent to navigate the app.
Organization: Arranging and coordinating materials in order to complete a task.
The whole family shares the Calroo app so everything is in one central location. Students can practice their organizational skills by adding their own calendar events, making lists of supplies they need, and checking off chores when they finish them. Because parents have access to the app as well, they can keep track of their student’s progress and model good organizational skills.
Planning: Planning for daily activities.
Students can work on their planning skills by entering items into the calendar and checking the Calroo app daily. As they use the app over time, they will come to see the value of planning things out in a visible space where they can refer back to it if necessary. If everyone in the family also uses the app for daily events, students can also see positive modeling of planning skills.
