Burning Fingers is a type-racing game designed for the iPhone. Users are challenged with simultaneously reading and typing sentences as fast as they can while a vehicle traveling left to right across their screen signifies typing speed. Sentences must be copied exactly, including capitals and punctuation, or players are not allowed to advance. Burning Fingers allows players to practice increasing their speed in a “Training” mode, or to compete online against other players. Players may also share their high scores and achievements with friends and family members via external social media sites like Twitter or Facebook. Burning Fingers contains no inappropriate material, but may be difficult for young children. This game is recommended to any player ages 6 and up.

Getting started and then maintaining attention and effort to tasks.
Burning Fingers requires players to be able to maintain their focus between multiple tasks simultaneously. Concentrating on both reading and typing with accuracy requires a great deal of focus. Burning Fingers will not allow players to advance to the next letter or word without typing the preceding letters, words, and punctuation exactly as they appear in the example sentences. Maintaining accuracy requires players to pay close attention to details such as spelling, grammatical marks, and capitalization. Players who are able to quickly shift their focus from the example sentences, to their keyboards, and to their typed work will be able to improve their typing speed over time. Players who exercise Focus will most often outperform and finish with better times and scores than those who are unable to shift their attention between multiple tasks.
Being efficient and aware of our use of time and effort.
Part of racing in Burning Fingers is working against other players who compete at various speeds. In order to be most successful, players must be able to exercise effective Time Management. Typing accurately with speed is made more difficult when combined with pressure created by competing against other players. Players must learn to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately under pressure from time. Mitigating an emotional or frantic response to the pressure created by time constraints is essential to continued success in Burning Fingers. Players must exercise patience and confidence against the clock, learning to work through the pressures and not allowing them to degrade overall performance.
