The battles in Samurai Warrior 5 are extremely chaotic. There are many different characters on screen at once and the player needs to be able to use their focusing skills to block out distractions and pay attention to the mission objective. Sometimes the boss you need to fight is surrounded by other enemies as well, making it harder to single them out for attacks. The game is also voiced in Japanese, meaning that the player needs to focus and read the subtitles to understand the story and the history behind the different characters and warring factions.
