Necrobarista helps kids practice and improve the following skills:

Focus: Getting started and then maintaining attention and effort to tasks.

Necrobarista is a visual novel, meaning that there is a lot of reading to be done. The game does not have voice acting, meaning that the player needs to read the text on screen in order to make sense of the story. Players will need to use their focusing skills in order to pay attention to the story and to learn more about each character and how they interact with each other in the game. For players who struggle with focus, playing the game in smaller chunks can keep the game feeling fresh and not too stressful. The player can then work up to playing and focusing on the reading for longer periods of time. 

Self-Awareness: Listening to others. 

The characters in Necrobarista discuss issues that affect people in the real world as well. Characters talk about loss, relationships, fears, and companionship. This gives the player the opportunity to practice their self-awareness skills by listening to the other characters within the game. For players who struggle with this skill, Necrobarista gives them space to hear characters talking about their problems or their memories without needing to respond; they can simply practice their listening skills.
