Secret Neighbor is the sequel to the game Hello Neighbor. In the original game, you played as a young boy who saw his neighbor behaving very suspiciously and attempted to break into his house to discover what he was hiding. In this game, you play as one of six children who are also attempting to break into the house, this time to rescue their friend who is kidnapped inside. Each of the six children has their own unique abilities, such as the Bagger who can hold more items in his inventory or the Brave, who wields a baseball bat.

The twist of this game is that one of the six children is actually the neighbor in disguise. The game is split between the kids trying to rescue their friend and find the imposter and the Neighbor who is trying to stay undercover and also kidnap the other children. If you are playing as the normal children, you need to roam around the house, collecting keys from various locations. These will be used to unlock the basement door and rescue your friend. But you need to be careful-if you don’t pay attention, you will become the next victim.

Secret Neighbor  helps kids practice and improve the following skills:

Focus: Getting started and then maintaining attention and effort to tasks.

Whether you are playing the game as a normal kid or the neighbor in disguise, you will need to use your focusing skills. If you are a normal kid, you need to be looking for keys while also looking at the other five kids and noting any suspicious behavior. If you do not focus, you may end up being caught by the neighbor. If you are playing as the neighbor, you need to try and keep the other kids from getting to the basement door with all the keys while trying not to look too suspicious.

Flexibility: Trying something new.

Each of the six children in the game has unique abilities and the player should try each one out to see which they would enjoy playing the best. Some of the characters, like the Detective, are better at finding keys while others like the Brave are better at using combat to achieve their goals. If the player struggles with Flexibility, they may not be able to enjoy the game as much if they limit themselves to only one type of character with which they play throughout the game.
