Super Kirby Clash is a free-to-play fighting game where you play as the classic Nintendo character Kirby. You are asked to take part in a fight against various enemies across the land. Other Kirbys can join you in your quest and provide support in the fights. The player can choose among four different types of role: Sword Hero, Hammer Lord, Doctor Healmore, and Beam Mage. Each role offers different benefits and requires a different approach to gameplay. Defeating enemies earns players gem apples and color fragments which can be used to purchase and upgrade equipment for you and your teammates.
The game also features an Adventurer Bell, which Kirby can ring to call other players to come join in the quest. Up to four players can participate at the same time. Solo play is also available with computer-based characters joining you in your quest. Two modes, Story Quest and Party Quest, allow for different types of play and different levels of rewards for completing quests.
Super Kirby clash is free to play on the Nintendo Switch but online play is limited to families who are subscribed to Nintendo Online. In-game purchases are available. Super Kirby Clash requires some reading so it is appropriate for players who can read or have adult assistance.
Organization: Arranging and coordinating materials in order to complete a task.
In order to purchase equipment, items such as healing potions, calling other adventurers, and opening up further levels, the player needs to amass color fragments and gem apples. The player needs to know how many of each item they have and make decisions about how they will spend the fragments and apples that reflect their priorities in the game. Additional gem apples can be purchased in-game, but for players who don’t want to spend actual money, they need to keep track of different quests that will earn these rewards. Players who struggle with Organization may find that this game is a low-stakes way to keep track of items, as there are fewer inventory items to keep track of than other traditional fighting/RPG games.
Flexibility: Adapting and adjusting to changing conditions and expectations.
Each battle in Super Kirby Clash features an enemy with a unique fighting strategy. This requires the player to adapt their fighting style to the type of enemy they are facing. Because the player can also choose between four different roles, they need to adapt to what actions they can take within a fight. For example, if they choose to play as Doctor Healmore, they will need to adapt to healing other players rather than focusing on solely delivering damage to the enemy.
Because Super Kirby Clash is also a multiplayer game, players need to show flexibility when working with other players to achieve a common goal. If a player struggles with working as a team, they may find that they are unable to defeat enemies or that it takes longer and uses more resources.
