Post-It is an organizational app for everything from to-do lists to brainstorming. The app allows the choice of writing or typing notes, “ink” color, and paper color. The user can also name different boards (such as Monday or English) and sub-categories (such as to-do and done). They also have the option of taking a photograph of real-life notes to transfer them into the app.
The ESRB rated this app E for Everyone and LW4K stands by this rating. It is important to note, however, people need to be able to read and write to use the Post-It app. We recommend it for users age ten and older.
Post-It App helps kids practice and improve the following skills:
Organizing and coordinating materials in order to complete a task.
This app allows the user to practice organizing ideas. They can use different colors or papers to distinguish things (like level of importance, for example). They can also use different boards or sub-boards to help them be more organized. Whatever approach they use, this app is very flexible and organic and can help the user explore different approaches until they find the one that works for them. In the process, they will be practicing their organizational skills.
Developing a systematic approach for setting and achieving goals.
In order to take notes and organize things with this app, the user also has to think about and plan what they need to do. Depending on the length of the project, they may have to use their long-term planning skills. Other times, when figuring out a to-do list for the morning, for example, they will use their short-term planning skills. The simple act of breaking a larger task into smaller ones, figuring out priority levels, and determining when to do the small tasks will also use their problem solving skills. In other words, whenever they use this app to organize their life, the user will also be using and strengthening their planning skills.
