One Line is a puzzle game where the player receives a shape of lines and dots. The goal is to fill all the lines and connect the dots using one line. There cannot be any overlap or repeating, filling each line only once. In the earliest levels, shapes are simple (such as a basic square or cube). The higher the levels, the more advanced and complex the shapes. The game even has lines that can only be filled in by going in a specific direction.

There are in-game ads and purchases available. The ESRB rated One Line E for Everyone and LW4K stands by this rating.

One Line helps kids practice and improve the following skills:

FlexibilityOne Line

Adapting and adjusting to changing conditions and expectations.

This game has a deceptively simple premise: fill the shape using one line. Doing this successfully, however, requires the player to utilize their flexibility skills. The more complex the shapes get, the more complex the answers become. This means the player has to be willing to try new things in order to find the correct route. They also have to be willing to adapt to changes, such as when they encounter a “one way” path that needs filled in. If they don’t remain flexible, they will be unable to complete levels and move on.

Planning

Developing and retaining information in our minds while working.

In order to ensure that the player only uses one line, they are going to have to use their planning skills. Specifically, they will use problem solving skills to figure out the path and, for the most part, it will be short-term planning. A few puzzles do get longer and require fifteen or twenty moves or more. Whether they are using short-term or long-term planning, they must use their planning skills or they will not be able to solve the puzzle with one line. If they can’t solve the puzzle, they can’t unlock new puzzles.
