Scirra Games

Grav Suit is a puzzle game where players must navigate a maze in zero gravity space. Players are only equipped with a ray gun which pulls players in the direction that the shot was fired. Constantly fighting the gravitational pull of black holes and a number or other obstacles, players must find their way to a “safe spot” on each map. Without the gun, players cannot control their movements, as they float freely in space. Clicking the mouse shoots the beam at the desired location. With a manageable learning curve, it’s not a difficult game to learn on the fly. Due to mild cartoon violence, we recommend Grav Suit to children ages 8 and older.

THIS GAME IS GOOD FOR KIDS WHO NEED HELP WITH:

Self Control

Managing our actions, feelings and behaviors.

Grav Suit relies heavily on the player's ability to demonstrate self-control. Moving through each level is quite difficult, as players lose health each time they drift into a barrier. And because players can shoot their ray gun only at these large magnetic barriers, colliding with them is ultimately inevitable. Players are constantly battling the momentum they created with the previous ray gun shot. The ray gun must also recharge. This means players have to wait once they drain all the power. To avoid this waiting period, players should shoot in short burst, accruing just enough momentum to move in the desired direction.

Planning

Developing a systematic approach for setting and achieving goals.

Players should locate the "safe spot" (which is shrouded in a blue glow) in each new as quickly as they can. To avoid aimlessly free floating in space, players need to have a direction. Once players locate where they need to end up, they can work on a strategy to get them there. However, there are other obstacles that players need to take into account. Black holes, moving machinery, and space debris all affect player movement. A good gameplan avoids obstacles. Avoiding obstacles saves precious health points, ultimately allowing players to get further and further in the game.
