UFO Run is an HTML5 browser game where players guide an alien through an obstacle course. The goal is to travel as far as possible without crashing and losing all health. Certain obstacles like spikes will cost players health points, costing them to lose a race after a few run-ins. The gameplay is very straightforward, as players simply depress the space bar or mouse to get airborne. By letting go, the alien will fall. And if players rapidly press the flying function key, then the alien will hover in the air—a useful tick for avoiding obstacles. Collecting stars and coins throughout the level will unlock achievements, keeping players invested in the game. We recommend UFO Run to children ages 6 and older.
THIS GAME IS GOOD FOR KIDS WHO NEED HELP WITH:
UFO Run is akin to a side scrolling racer in that new obstacles are introduced at a very fast pace. Players are therefore forced to adjust and adapt to each new obstacle, as they jump, dive, and hover between spikes and rotating airborne blockades. Flexibility is an important skill to to employ while playing UFO Run. In this read and react style of play, players must evolve their flying strategies to the immediate gameplay environment. And when players begin to struggle as the speed of the game increases as greater distance is traveled, players will have to deal with and overcome frustration.
There are a number of achievements that players unlock, keeping gameplay interesting and exciting. Goals are an important of the focus thinking skill as well as an important part of UFO Run. Gameplay goals help players sustain attention, effort, and energy in an attempt to achieve. Players work to beat their own high scores, collect stars and coins, and complete the pre set achievements. Of course, manipulating the alien's movements in quite difficult, and requires attention to detail, as well.
