In Trials HD the player completes stunts and races by riding a motor-cross bike through various side-scrolling courses. In Tournament races, the player races for the best time, while Skill races have him performing complicated stunts and tricks to advance. Both races contain hazards which must be avoided in order to get a good score. Thanks to the game’s complicated physics, the numerous ramps and hazards the player encounters can be quite tricky to overcome, with the player riding through burning buildings, amusement parks, industrial complexes and more. While there is no combat in the game, players can crash their motorcycles and cause injury to the rider. Little reading is needed to understand the game’s controls and concepts, but due to the intense crashes and level of difficulty the game is recommended to players ages 10 and up.

THIS GAME IS GOOD FO KIDS WHO NEED HELP WITH:

Flexibility

Adapting and adjusting to changing conditions and expectations.

Trials HD has very strict physics, and the obstacles of each course effect the player's bike in various ways. To  overcome hazards, the player needs to be open to trying new tactics in order to learn what works for each situation. For example, there could be a level that requires the player to ride up a steep hill, complete a loop, and then jump over a crate of explosives. Each stunt requires the player to use a different technique, such as using more gas for speed or carefully timing a jump. Skill races task the player with performing specific stunts, like riding in a steel ball, jumping through flaming hoops, or even exploding the bike.

Time Management

Being efficient and aware of our use of time and effort.

In Tournament races, players must compete with the computer for the best time throughout a series of races. Each second is important, as players must get by the course’s obstacles as quickly as possible. If the player knows he is behind on a race, he must manage his time, and find a way to finish first. Without proper Time Management skills, players will be left in the dust.

Self-Control

Mannaging our feelings, actions, and behaviers.

Players must carefully control their character, as the rider can easily fall from his bike. Players must be sensitive when using the control stick, as well as the gas button. If players do not carefully control their rider, he will disband from his bike and cost the player valuable time. Players must also control thier speed with the brake, as driving too fast can result in a devastating crash.
