In ‘Splosion Man, players will take control of a lab experiment gone wrong. As the ever combustible ‘Splosion Man, players help our hero escape a laboratory called “Big Science.” Players must blast their way through various traps and hazards, and reach the exit in order to advance. Pressing the explode button will cause ‘Splosion Man to fly through the air, and can be done repeatably while airborne. As ‘Splosion Man progresses through the game, he will learn new ways to explode, like off walls, and with the help of bombs. If players take too much damage, ‘Splosion Man will explode for good, causing progress in the level to be lost. Due to some comical cartoon violence and a moderate level of difficulty, the game is recommended for players ages 10 and up.
Adapting and adjusting to changing conditions and expectations, especially adapting to obstacles.
‘Splosion Man features over 50 levels filled with different traps, hazards, and conditions that change from level to level, tasking players with forming new strategies as they progress. Some levels require the player to escape rising water, others pit him against stationary guns, while some must be completed within a small amount of time. Players must decide what strategy is right for the job, adapting to new challenges level to level. If they play each stage with the same approach, they'll have a very hard time progressing.
Getting started and then maintaining attention and effort to tasks, especially shifting attention.
‘Splosion Man also helps kids practice their Focus skills. In ‘Splosion Man players must direct their attention toward the common goal for each level: reaching the exit. With this goal in mind, players must solve puzzles, defeat enemies, and explode their way to the exit. As players find their way to the exit, they need to pay close attention to the timing of each explosions, as it only takes one bad bang to lose the level.
