Katamari Damacy Reroll helps kids practice and improve the following skills:

Focus: Blocking out distractions. 

Within each level of the game, the player needs to use their focusing skills to pay attention to the end goal. There is a lot of chaos on screen in the game; there are things that can knock you around, the King talks to you which covers up a part of the screen, and sometimes rolling over certain objects prematurely will end the level before you are ready. The player needs to pay attention to the goal of the level and block out all other distractions. For players who struggle with focus, they can repeat the earlier levels a few extra times until they are comfortable with the feel of the game, the controlling of the katamari, and the amount of chaos the screen contains. 

Time Management: Working under pressure. 

Almost every level in the game has a time limit. This means that the player has a limited amount of time to roll up their katamari to the required size and beyond. Players need to be able to work under pressure and complete the challenges by rolling up objects and not being bothered by the time ticking down in the upper right hand corner of the screen. For players who struggle with this aspect of time management, starting with the easier levels and playing through them a few times until a level of comfort is established can go a long way to helping the player feel comfortable with the time constraints of the game and what needs to be done to make it through each level. The constellation levels are also much lower stakes, in that they cannot be failed easily. Players can play through the available constellation levels until they are confident enough to move on to more stressful timed levels.
