inFAMOUS 2 is a single player, open-world game centering on Cole McGrath, an ordinary man who gains electrical super powers after being involved in a freak accident. Players can use these powers to explore the city — gliding across rooftops and riding on electric wires — while also battling with the evil militia controlling the town. The game has a morality system and Cole is frequently faced with moral choices that blur the line between hero and villain. With two possible endings, the game’s story changes depending on the player’s actions. Due to strong language, challenging gameplay, moderate violence and minimal blood, the game is only recommended to ages 13 and up.
Adapting and adjusting to changing conditions and expectations.
Cole has a slew of powers at his disposal, and players that rely too heavily on a single one will have difficulty progressing in the game. Players need to mix up their attacks and play style, using ranged attacks at a distance, attacking from rooftops and dispatching nearby foes with melee attacks. Furthermore, players are commonly ambushed when spotted, requiring them to think fast and quickly adapt to the situation and environment.
Managing our actions, feelings and behaviors.
The enemies in inFAMOUS 2 are large in numbers and can be quite challenging, requiring clever tactics and a well-balanced approach to overcome. Players that act impulsively and rush into fights will commonly find themselves overwhelmed, causing them to have to try again. By inhibiting their actions and fighting strategically, players are more likely avoid being surrounded by enemies and therefore apt to take less damage. By taking a moment to survey their environment, players can locate cover and better shield themselves from attacks, allowing them to pick off foes and reduce their numbers before facing them head-on.
Getting started and then maintaining attention and effort to tasks.
The world of inFamous 2 is filled with peril, and enemies can pop up and ambush Cole at anytime. Players must stay vigilante as they explore, making sure they get the jump on their enemies -- a powerful tactic in the game. Furthermore, many mission objectives require players to avoid distractions while focusing on a single task, like tailing a car from the rooftops. Players that get side-tracked may become engaged in battles that do not help them complete their mission and could force them to start over. Other factors players must focus on include Cole's health, the level of their electric power and the location of nearby cars, telephone poles and electric meters that can recharge their power. As they explore, players must also keep a sharp eye out for "blast shards," crucial items for increasing Cole's powers.
