Flow Free is a connect-the-dots/puzzle game that’s now available as an HTML5 game. The concept and functionality are the same as the mobile versions of the app, as players must find a way to connect sets two same colored dots spread out on a grid. Depending on the level of difficulty there can be as few as four colors on a 5×5 grid — or as many as 10 colors on an 11×11 grid. The goal is to fill each box on the grid with a colored streak. The streak corresponds to the path players used to match the two colored dots. All boxes on the grid must be filled in order for players to move on.
THIS GAME IS GOOD FOR KIDS WHO NEED HELP WITH:
Before connecting any dots, as obvious as it may be, players should take a moment to scan the grid. Here they should note the best ways to create a path between two corresponding dots. If the path blocks the only way to make another connection, players must seek and alternate route, forcing them to take an unnecessary turn. Stars are awarded based on the number of turns it takes to solve the puzzle. To get three stars, players are not allowed any mistakes -- which is why they must plan their attack.
Especially when players take a one of the more challenging grids, there will be an inevitable element of trial and error. The goal is to minimize the amount of mistakes players make. And if a mistake is made, it's important to find the solution on the next turn, as not waste the opportunity to earn more stars. For example, if players have connected the final two dots, only to realize that there are still open spaces on the grid, they must find out where they went wrong, and make the appropriate changes. They will likely have to alter the route of one of their previous connections.
