My Little Pony Color By Magic is a coloring book app that features the popular My Little Pony characters in a story-based setting. The pony Twilight Sparkle and her friend are taking a trip to the museum together. However, when they arrive they see that it is broken down and in shambles. They decide to renovate the museum using magic. Twilight Sparkle can only use this magic by activating her memories and these are lacking in some color. The user colors in pictures using a predetermined color palette in order to fix certain parts of the museum. There are other areas to explore within the museum, friends to invite, and an open area where the user can color other pictures without guidance from the game.

My Little Pony Color By Magic is a free-to-use app but certain elements require in-app purchases. It is available now on Android and iOS.

My Little Pony Color By Magic  helps kids practice and improve the following skills:

Self Control: Managing our actions, feelings and behaviors.

When children are feeling anxious or stressed, coloring can be a way to calm down and take a break from an upsetting situation. Coloring apps like My Little Pony Color by Magic are a way for children to do this if they are in a place where they cannot access a coloring book and crayons. By completing the coloring pages and restoring parts of the museum, children can focus on the task at hand and let go of some of the negative emotions that they are feeling. The color options in the main portion of the game are limited as well, allowing for fewer choices for the user to make, allowing them to focus on coloring.

Planning: Developing a systematic approach for setting and achieving goals.

The user starts out the game with a certain amount of apples. Each coloring page they complete costs an apple and eventually the user runs out of apples and needs to wait until they have more apples to keep moving through the game. In this way, the user can practice planning because they need to plan out when they are going to play the game and when they are going to take a break and wait for their apple meter to fill back up. There is a way to pay for additional apples with money, but if the user is practicing their planning skills, they will have other activities, such as free painting, to allow them to pass that time until they can play the main game again.
