Actions is a digital to-do list app created by Moleskine. The user creates “actions” (any item on their to-do lists; any task they need to accomplish). The user can schedule a due date, as well as set-up reminders. Actions are in three areas: lists, schedule, and logbook. Lists is where the user can build to-do lists for things like the day’s activities or a longer-term project like a research paper. The schedule is where any actions with a due date will show up on a calendar. The logbook is where completed items are listed.
This app has a seven-day free trial and then an annual subscription available. The ESRB rated it E for Everyone.
Actions helps kids practice and improve the following skills:
Developing a systematic approach for setting and achieving goals.
Using this app forces the user to use their planning skills. They have to think about projects and tasks that are coming up and then they have to break those tasks down into actions. Once they do that, they also have to plan out when they need to complete each task and when to set reminders for. The longer or bigger the project, the further out they have to plan. Even with small projects, however, the user will be using their planning skills.
Being efficient and aware of our use of time and effort.
This app will also help the user strengthen their time management skills. By breaking a big project down into smaller actions, the user is setting up smaller deadlines. This gives them practice meeting deadlines and also helps the user keep pace so they can hit the larger, over all deadlines or the project as a whole.
