Habit Minder is an app that allows the user to set daily, weekly and monthly goals and chart their progress. The app gives goal suggestions in various categories such as health, appreciation, and commitments. Users can also create their own custom goals if the readymade ones do not apply.
The free version of the app allows you to track up to three habits at a time, while subscribers can track an unlimited amount of habits. Assign each habit an icon, a color, and a sound and check in daily to mark your progress. An analysis icon can show you how much progress you have made towards turning your positive habits into routines.
Because of the amount of reading and writing involved in using this app, it may not be developmentally appropriate for students who cannot yet read and write.
Focus: Getting started and then maintaining attention and effort to tasks.
Habit Minder helps students keep track of their positive behaviors and see their progress daily. Because the goals in the app are easily monitored, it helps students stay on task and stay motivated. Habit Minder also has a tracking function that allows students to see their progress on any particular goal. If they are getting off task, they can see this in the tracking portion of the app and make necessary adjustments to stay on task.
Planning:. Developing a systematic approach for setting and achieving goals.
A habit tracker is a great way for students to work on their planning skills. Habit Minder asks the students to pick specific habits to work on, set their own schedule, and check in on their progress periodically. This allows students to be aware of what they need to achieve and make a plan for how they are going to do it.
