In BurgerTime World Tour, players navigate a chef around multi-tiered levels in an effort to stack together different ingredients to create hamburgers. Ingredients are positioned on different levels, and they must be dropped down to lower levels by having the chef travel over them. After every ingredient is properly stacked together into burgers, the level is finished. Feisty food monsters are scattered throughout each stage, and if touched, they cause the chef to lose a life. If the players run out of lives, the game ends. BurgerTime World Tour is easy to play and not violent, with no academic skills needed to play, making this title recommended for kids ages 6 and up.
Developing a systematic approach to setting and achieving goals.
This game requires players to think ahead and develop a strategy for collecting the different ingredients needed to fully assemble each burger. Because players are constantly chased by various food enemies, they must plan routes that avoid attackers or try to lure them into traps that sandwich them between falling ingredients.
For example, a player could lure Sonny the egg to a position situated below an ingredient and then dodge his attack. This causes Sonny to briefly pause and then recharge, opening up the opportunity for the player to quickly move up a level and drop the ingredient down to defeat him. Another food monster, Frank Furter, continuously chases players, which makes it relatively easy to lure him into traps. If players fail to quickly plan out routes and outsmart foes, getting a good score -- not to mention surviving the level -- will be difficult.
Being efficient and aware of the use of time and effort.
Since BurgerTime World Tour employs a timed scoring system, players are rewarded for successfully prioritizing their approach to defeating enemies and stacking ingredients. One of the toughest challenges of each level is figuring out the most efficient way to play through it, but rushing through to stack ingredients is also not always the wisest move. That’s because if players are hit by one of the many food monsters, they not only lose a life but time gets subtracted from the clock. Players that can balance their time between two main tasks — luring enemies into traps and quickly stacking together ingredients — will have a better chance of finishing levels faster and earning a higher score.
