Play now at New Grounds

In ChromaBlast, players must attempt to stay alive and protect the planet by strategically shooting pairs of differently colored orbs at invading aliens. Creating rows of like-colored orbs will destroy the aliens and earn points for the players. Subsequent levels become progressively more difficult, and while players will have to act more quickly to fire orbs, they will still need to tactically plan each of their moves. The game does not contain any inappropriate content and is simple to learn and play, and is therefore deemed suitable for players ages 4 and older.

this game is good for kids who need help with:

Planning:

Developing a systematic approach for setting and achieving goals.

This game is helpful for children who need more practice with forethought and conceiving strategies prior to beginning new tasks. In ChromaBlast, players will have to assess the aliens’ locations on the screen and determine the best areas at which to fire each pair of orbs. Additionally, players can see one shot ahead, as the game shows which orbs are lined up for the next shot. This allows them to think further ahead, and plan more strategically. If players do not appropriately plan their moves, the aliens will reach the ground and the game will end.

Time Management:

Being efficient and aware of our use of time and effort.

In ChromaBlast, players compete as much against the clock as they do against the aliens. Each level begins with the aliens bunched at the top of the screen, but as the game progresses, the aliens drop lower with each completed shot. If players take too long to destroy all the aliens in a level, they reach the bottom and the game ends. In order to use their time wisely, players must take care to move and shoot as efficiently as they can, make sure to dedicate time to clearing various areas of the screen.
