Bookr is a online photo album creator that works hand-in-hand with Flickr.com, a popular photo storage website. With Bookr, users can easily create gorgeous and stylish “photobooks” that display the selected photos they haven chosen from their Flickr photo library. Users can add color, text, editing, and other features to their photobook to make it present their photos in a meaningful and unique way. Your child can create a story book by using his own photos and writing captions, giving him the option of sharing it with friends, family, or other Bookr users. The app requires little academic skill to use, and features a simple interface, making it recommended for users ages 8 and up.

This app is good for kids who need help with:

Organization

Arranging and coordinating materials in order to complete a task.

First and foremost, your child will need to organize the photos that he would like to use in a photobook, and upload them to the computer. The need to be saved in a place where they are accessible, and can be uploaded to Flickr before using Bookr to create the photobook. These steps will require your child to stay organized and know which photos need to go where.

Planning

Developing a systematic approach for setting and achieving goals.

Creating a photobook requires users to think about what type of photos they will be including, how many they can have, and what theme or colors should be incorporated into the photobook design. The more concrete your child's plan is, the less time it will take to create the photobook, and the more likely he will create a professional looking final product.

Self-Awareness

Understanding our own actions, thoughts and feelings.

Using Bookr to create photobooks can be a fun way for your child to get creative and practice self-awareness. Not only will he need to think about what kind of photos he wants to take, organize, and share, but also who will be viewing the photobook, and what his overall purpose is. By exploring the photobooks of others, he will be able to expand and explore his interests and create an identity of topics that he enjoys.

Writing

Have your child use his own photos to create a story book. Users can create pages with text and guide readers through a story by using specific images and coming up with an interesting story line. He will need to go through the process of writing a beginning, middle, and end, and edit his work several times to create the best final product.
