WarioWare: Smooth Moves features a variety of goofy, fast-paced mini-games — or “macro-games” — that become increasingly faster as the game progresses. The player’s job is to hold the Wii remote in a specific manner, performing different movements that correspond with the frenetic action on the screen. For example, in one game the goal is to maintain a tightrope-walker’s balance by holding the remote as a balance pole, while another has the player using the remote like the gear shift of a car. All of the macro-games in WarioWare: Smooth Moves are simple to understand, with easy-to-follow visual instructions. However, the game does feature some mildly crude humor. Due to the game’s cartoon nature, relatively inoffensive content and ease of play, it is recommended to players ages 7 and up.

This Game is Good for Kids Who Need Help With:

Flexibility

Adapting and adjusting to changing conditions and expectations.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves' macro-games are short and switch rapidly, with each game requiring the player to hold and use the Wii remote in various ways. For instance, the remote might need to be held in front of the nose (called “The Elephant”) for one macro-game, at the hips for the next (“The Big Cheese”), and held out in the palm of the hand for the next (“The Waiter”). The swift changes between poses and game types encourages the player to act quickly and adapt to the game's frantic pace.

Working Memory

Recalling and retaining information in our minds while working.

As noted above, there are various ways to hold the Wii remote in the game, with each position having its own nickname. Since each macro game is very fast-paced (averaging about five seconds each), the player's ability to quickly remember these positions is key to victory, as only three failed attempts are allotted. Also, the player may repeat macro-games from time to time, and will be at a great advantage if he can remember how the remote must be used to beat the game beforehand.
