Possessions is a 3D puzzle game where the player is constantly shifting perspective by rotating and zooming in and out to place objects within a room. Through 33 different levels, the player takes objects that appear to be floating in mid-air and connects them with their surroundings by rotating the screen and shifting their perspective. When the item is in its correct position, it will lock into place, allowing you to move on to other objects.

After completing the puzzle, the player will see a snippet of story involving the family who lives in the rooms you have been playing in. The story is without words or dialogue, allowing the player to visually put the story of this family together.

The game also features an AR mode where the player can move objects in a room by walking around in a real space within their own home.  Bonus levels in both the normal and AR mode feature other spaces such as world monuments that can be put back together by shifting perspective.

Possessions is free to play with a subscription to Apple Arcade.

Possessions helps kids practice and improve the following skills:

Focus: Getting started and then maintaining attention and effort to tasks.

In order to move through the story in the game, the player needs to complete each of the room puzzles. Players need to use their focusing skills and not give up or get distracted by the other objects in the room. Focusing only on the pieces of the house that need to be placed will ensure that they are able to stay on task until the completion of the puzzle. For players who struggle with focus, choosing one specific piece at a time and methodically working through the puzzle can help avoid distractions and enjoy the story after each level is completed.

Flexibility: Adapting and adjusting to changing conditions and expectations.

Rotating and changing perspective to solve a puzzle requires the player to use their flexibility and adapt to the situation. Also, some items cannot be placed or completed until others that are near them are finished, so the player needs to be able to pivot and solve that first part of the puzzle before moving on to the next object. Players who struggle with flexibility can gain some experience working with the earlier puzzles or trying the AR experience where they are physically moving through their own space to accomplish their goals.
