Harmony: Melody Mirror has multiple different names. On the developer’s website it is Harmony: Melody Notes. On IOS it is Harmony: Melody Mirror. And on the Google Play store it is Harmony: Relax Melodies. All versions appear to be the same game.
There are two modes in this game. The first mode has a typical level set-up. The player has a board with squares (some filled in and some empty) and a mirror line. They must to mirror the existing blocks across the mirror line. Each level has a certain number of moves to complete it, and hints are available if needed. There is also a shred mode. In this mode there are no specific levels. There is just a timer and fast paced mirrors; the player must do as many as possible before time runs out.
The game keeps track of high scores in shred mode, offers achievements to complete, and keeps track of rankings on a leaderboard. The game has in-game ads and purchases available. The ESRB rated this game E for Everyone and LW4K stands by this rating.
Harmony: Melody Mirror helps kids practice and improve the following skills:
Adapting and adjusting to changing conditions and expectations.
This game requires the player to stay flexible. At the beginning of the first levels, the player is given a simple mirror line. The more advanced the level, however, the more diverse the mirror lines become. Their length, direction, and even the number of mirror lines changes. This means the player has to be adapting how they view the board and how they approach the mirror lines. If they aren’t flexible in this manner, they will be unable to unlock new levels or get higher scores on shred mode.
Getting started and then maintaining attention and effort to tasks.
In the regular mode, players need to be shifting their focus between multiple things (such as where the mirror line is and how many empty squares are between the mirror line and a filled square). In shred mode, players will also be using their focus skills to ignore internal and external distractions in order to get as many mirrors done as possible before time runs out. If the player does not use these focus skills, they will be unable to complete achievements or advance in the game.
