Pokémon Rumble Rush is a fast-paced Pokémon fighting game. The player is given a low-level starter Pokémon and a guide for a tutorial. The goal of the game is to collect Pokémon by exploring islands. To do this, the player must find and explore levels, as well as face boss levels. The boss levels have specific requirements that must be met before the player can enter them.

The further into the game a player gets, the more Pokémon (and the higher level Pokemon) he or she will find. The player will also unlock gears (which are a way to make specific captured Pokémon even stronger), a refinery (to make the gears), and the ability to upgrade gears. There are challenges, tournaments, and the chance to connect with other adventurers.

Pokémon Rumble Rush has in-game ads and purchases available. The ESRB rated it E for Everyone and LW4K stands by this rating.

Pokémon Rumble Rush helps kids practice and improve the following skills:

Self-AwarenessPokémon Rumble Rush

Understanding our own actions, thoughts and feelings.

This game has a simple fighting mechanism. The Pokémon automatically walks forward and the player taps on the screen to defeat other Pokémon. While doing this, however, the player must stay aware of what Pokémon are surrounding him and how his or her life meter is doing. The player, in other words, must practice self-awareness. If the player isn’t staying aware of their surroundings (by paying attention to which “enemy” Pokémon are headed their way (or when the boss Pokémon is about to attack), they will lose health points and potentially lose the level.

Working Memory

Recalling and retaining information in our minds while working.

This game requires the player to meet a certain set of requirements before advancing into the next boss level. There is also a list of challenges for the player to meet to earn gems. Both of these elements ask the player to retain information and meet goals in order to do well in the game. This allows the player to practice following directions and reducing forgetfulness. If the player doesn’t use their working memory, they can still play the game, but they will have trouble advancing.
