SkyView is an amazing augmented reality app that reveals the stars, planets, and other astrological features that surround the user. To do this, Sky View uses the location of your child and overlays the stars and other features right on top of the camera on the device. Simply move your iPhone around and point the camera to discover what constellations and planets are around your region. Your child can research constellations, discover new ones, and take pictures to share with friends and family. This app is fascinating and can be useful for entertainment or academic purposes by children and adults of all ages.
Adapting and adjusting to changing conditions and expectations.
SkyView gives users the opportunity to view and click on any stars or celestial bodies in the user's region. In order to get the most out of SkyView, your child will need to think flexibly in order to understand the star map and how it relates to his world, as well as utilize all of the available tools, such as predicting the path of the moon or using the screenshot or educational features. Your child will need to learn all the various uses of SkyView and how they can be used to explore his curiosities as well as how it can help him with his schoolwork and astrology unit for class.
Getting started and then maintaining attention and effort to tasks.
SkyView will encourage your child to take the time to focus on and appreciate the vast nature of our universe. For children who tend to overlook details and are always running at full speed, this app is a great tool for slowing down and appreciating the world around you while gaining a more scientific understanding of the world. It can be overwhelming to see the vast amount of stars, planets, and other celestial bodies that exist around us and it requires your child to use SkyView with tasks to achieve. Your child will also need to Focus in order to research on any specific constellations or stars he is interested in rather than becoming distracted by all of the constellations that are in the sky around him.
Recalling and retaining information in our mind while working.
Finding planets, stars, and constellations is a great way to exercise the Working Memory thinking skill. Your child can work to learn where different celestial bodies are located by finding them with SkyView, learning to remember their relative location, appearance, and shape. As time progresses, your child will begin to recall the names and locations of stars, planets, and constellations. As the sky appears differently during different parts of the night, or different seasons, this can be a great way keep information in mind and to exercise the Working Memory thinking skill throughout the year with fresh material to learn about.
For many students, the solar system seems abstract and foreign; it's often not something you can see outside of pictures in books or distant telescopes. SkyView helps make the universe more relatable by bringing it closer to home and making the stars feel more tangible. He will be able to walk into his science and astronomy-related units with the confidence of better understanding what is in the galaxy and where things are located, all provided in an informative and fun way.
